Why Most Americans Don’t Like Socialism (September 13, 2019)

Socialism has different faces, and each one has been twisted and recreated to suit whichever party, country, or individual is looking to promote it to its citizens. Depending on which state or media propaganda you’re reading, the term can mask fascism, communism, or imperialism. Unfortunately, in the history of the world, the term Socialism rarely turns out to be true to itself.

During the time of the Soviet Socialist Republic, the brand of Socialism was a form of communism. A world of state-owned property. Forced labor was thrust upon the citizens as if they were living in a hive. Citizens were not permitted to leave their country without the approval of the government. The USSR was the enemy, and its existence was 190 degrees opposite of that of the United States. For many citizens today, the memories of that time are very fresh.

BBC being, well BBC. (June 7, 2020)

In reference to the BBC article below: It’s time to take note of one of your greatest orators’ interpretations of an old metaphor. “Each one hopes that if he feeds the crocodile enough, the crocodile will eat him last. All of them hope that the storm will pass before their turn comes to be devoured. But I fear greatly that the storm will not pass. Read More Continue reading BBC being, well BBC. (June 7, 2020)

Wha Wha? Defund our PoPo? No! (May 2020)

The result of de-funding the police is, YOU GOT IT, YOU WIN THE PRIZE…Privatization! Brilliant idea. Just brilliant. Then there will be no rules at all. Companies will buy neighborhoods, privatize the police, and double down on the control because they are on private property. I suggest this thought be put to rest. Bad idea. Very bad. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/may/31/the-answer-to-police-violence-is-not-reform-its-defunding-heres-why Continue reading Wha Wha? Defund our PoPo? No! (May 2020)

Diamonds and Other Gems

the us capitol building under cloudy blue sky

I’m always amazed at the security at the Oscars. In my eyes, the beautiful mortal people don’t hold a candle to the eternal gems they wear. The gems will be displayed a thousand years from now, and the wearer might be mentioned in a footnote if they’re lucky. Each celebrity has a guard watching out for the gems. I wonder if the person matters as much as the gems to them.

On that note, these gems appear to be more critical than our National Capital and its representatives. Why do I say this? Insurance companies seem to take more care and interest in their preservation. We do the same for our national information. Technology Security certifications have names and hierarchies associated with the level of access an individual can observe or manipulate. All hell rains down should it be breached. In fact, It’s a common thread throughout the U.S. Government.

Combative Enemy? (June 12, 2020)

I’m not a constitutional lawyer, but I could argue the following: If the domestic insurgency in Seattle has decided to name its conquest CHAZ and asks for the identification of those who enter and leave, it’s fair to call them secessionists. As a secessionist location surrounded by the United States, they must wait for their turn for an executive audience. Just like any other foreign Read More Continue reading Combative Enemy? The Dressing Down Of Our National Scientist

shallow focus photography of microscope

First, Fauci is a scientist. His job is to give everyone the scientific facts on what needs to occur to irradicate this Covid-19 virus. NOTHING MORE AND NOTHING LESS. He must suggest a scientist’s perfect world of remediations that should take place during this pandemic. Sometimes they will be lofty, but that is all he’s meant to do!

The Police Put Up With Way Too Much

https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/586913-no-charges-for-former-miami-officer-who-slapped-woman-at-airport/

Police officers have to worry about COVID too! They have families and lives to protect at home and on the streets, and in airport terminals. They are people, and they are tired, and they are upset and feel under-appreciated like EVERYONE ELSE. Where is her mask? As she is spitting in his face, does she realize she’s putting him at risk? COVID can get into his eyes as well!

What is wrong with people getting into the personal space of police officers these days? What makes them think it’s okay to confront another person in such a manner? Would she do that to a gang member or someone who looked like they would kill her on the spot? No, she chose someone who she thought would act as her personal whipping boy! Someone she thought was legally bound by law not to use his instincts and to let her continue her tirade and assault upon him.

Voting in Silence. An absolute Must.

woman doing a hush hand gesture

There’s a reason you were told never to tell anyone which candidate you voted for as a child: polarization and retribution. It’s also why polling doesn’t work in a politically divided environment because many people are risk-averse and they’re afraid of conflict. They often lie, avoid, or hang up on a poll taker out of fear. Many citizens wish to vote silently and let the chips fall where they may.

Our current environment has all of the telltale signs of voter coercion, manipulation via fear or guilt, and a basket full of other reasons why you should remain tight-lipped about who you’re voting for in the upcoming election. We need to remember this, and we need to consider it when it comes to mail-in voting. Privacy is a must in our elections. Our voting system is designed with this in mind. It should remain intact because the media and the internet are full of aggregation tools and voyeurism that wish to manipulate or even suppress your vote.

As for using the US Postal Service. I appreciate their hard work and effort in delivering mail, but I must ask the following questions:

Are We Really Destroying Artwork?

Many moons have passed since I would watch Sister Wendy Beckett and chuckle at her brazen descriptions of art from around the world. You might remember her from the PBS shows “Sister Wendy’s (fill in the blank).” If that doesn’t ring a bell, you may remember Sister Wendy from her signature chipmunk teeth, pleasant demeanor, and infectious love of art. She would spend hours discussing the history of paintings and statues from all periods in human history. And though she was a Catholic nun, her assessments were free from the trappings of the Vatican. She took great pains to educate humanity on the necessity of art. As statues fall around the US, I think of Sister Wendy.

Sister Wendy knew how much we could learn about societies gone past from the Artworks the citizens produced in their time. We’ve learned how brutal some periods were, how romantic, cold, or distant others were, we’ve learned about societies that we thought were fiction that turned out to be real, and much more. We’ve seen the ravages of tidal waves depicted in ways that teach us about geology and oceanography today. We still ponder on Easter Island and Stonehenge’s mysterious monoliths. We seek out the lost city of Atlantis and scour the world for art and writings for clues to its whereabouts. But what strikes me most at the moment is that many artworks depict slavery. We’ve learned how slaves were treated globally since the beginning of recorded history. Slaves were of every ethnicity in humanity too. Humans can be cruel, and art is often a whisper of how depraved we were and how far we have come.
