Is Keanu Reeves quiet, because he’s brilliant, or brilliant because he’s quiet?
Since the article below on “Medium.com” chose a thespian as a litmus test, let’s remain in that testing group. I’m a fan of Keanu Reeves, but I don’t think he’s more intelligent than someone who speaks more frequently. George Clooney, is what my grandmother would call chatterbox and very intelligent. Geena Davis, Natalie Portman, and others who have gone to Ivy League schools are also very outgoing and extremely intelligent.

This line of thinking is fragile, and I’d say that it is an attempt to promote one behavioral trait over another to steer sheeple in a direction the writer finds to be more palatable. Silent and thoughtful. The world moves in many directions, and people of all types are considered “smart.” Yes, if everyone were quiet and hyper-thoughtful, the world may be calmer, but it would be rather dull, wouldn’t it? Additionally, curiosity is often displayed by throwing oneself out there in a gregarious way. It most certainly can be silent too. But it’s not the only or best way to encapsulate intelligence.
As for Keanu, maybe he realizes he’s in a world full of celebrity hounds, and that silence will ensure his safety. Brilliant. After all, the masses can be ruthless. So being silent might be about self-preservation.
Or he’s a real brill-boy.
