Almost all of us have struggled to obtain self-sufficiency in our lives. Whether it is financially, emotionally, or physically, we all seem to feel as if we are less of a person if we have to depend on others for pretty much anything. Yet, as Americans, we don’t have to reach back very far in our history to observe the groundwork that laid out this primal fear into a written doctrine.

Washington and Madison were two of our most vocal founding fathers that expressed the necessity for American independence and self-sufficiency. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that America was built on the fear of dependence on other nations that might wish to control our lives or, worse, do us harm in the future for some unforeseen reason. Independence means freedom. And growing our food, producing our assortment of necessary commodities, and striving for self-sufficiency is the only way to ensure this goal is reached. At a basic human level, we all wish this very thing for our children so that another person can’t control them.

This brings me to the current N.Corona Virus. A Pandemic is one of the very things that would demand our independence from the rest of the world. We must continue to improve our circumstances as a nation and be a beacon of light for others, but we must never forget to take care of ourselves first.

If we face another pandemic, we must have a plan to temporarily shut our doors because, as proven, we’ll need to rev up our industry and strengthen our stature as our forefathers had intended. So what’s 1st on the list? I would love to have readers send in their lists so I can add them to Congressional Wish List and send it to the big dogs.

Let’s make our own; ill start:

Toilet Paper!
